Sunscreen
On the label as: SPF
The step that protects everything else. Every morning, last.
Sunscreen cuts down tanning, dark marks, melasma flares, early wrinkles and the risk of skin cancer. Without it, treatments for marks and pigment barely work.
SPF measures protection from burning (UVB); the PA rating measures protection from tanning and ageing (UVA). Look for both.
Who it suits
Everyone, every morning. The step that makes every other product worth using.
How to use it
- Two finger-lengths for face and neck, as the last morning step.
- Reapply every two to three hours outdoors.
- Gel for oily skin, cream for dry skin, mineral for sensitive skin.
What to pair it with
Sunscreen + Retinol
Work well together
Retinol makes skin more sun-sensitive. Sunscreen every morning is part of using it.
Sunscreen + Vitamin C
Work well together
Vitamin C under sunscreen adds antioxidant cover. The classic morning pair.
Sunscreen + AHA
Work well together
Acids leave fresh skin more sun-sensitive. Sunscreen the next morning is a must.
Everything else pairs fine with sunscreen: apply the thinnest product first.
